Angus Sports Awards 2011 - Criteria for the Award Categories
The six categories and qualifying criteria for the 2011 Angus Sports Awards are listed below.
Sports Personality of the Year Award
- Be an Angus resident aged 18+.
- Have an amateur status.
- Compete in a sport recognised by sportscotland.
Young Sports Personality of the Year Award
- Be an Angus resident under 18 years.
- Have an amateur status.
- Compete in a sport recognised by sportscotland.
Coach of the Year Award
- Coach an amateur sports club, team or individual within Angus on a voluntary basis.
- Coach a sport recognised by sportscotland.
- Coaches in fully paid professional jobs are not eligible for this award. (ie manager/coach of professional football club, professional tennis coach, professional golf coach).
Team of the Year Award
- This award aims to recognise the achievements and commitment of a voluntary or school sports team/group in 2011.
- This award applies to voluntary or school sports teams/groups at all age groups.
Sports Personality of the Year Award for People with a Disability
- This award aims to recognise an individual with a physical, sensory or learning disability who took part in sporting competition in 2011. This award will only consider nominations for people below paralympic and elite levels.
Service to Sport Award
- Be an Angus resident.
- For the purposes of this award, must not be a competitor or performer.
- Former winners of this award are not eligible for re-nomination.
