For bird-watchers, the Montrose Basin is popular for viewing seabirds and waders.

Heading inland, the Angus Glens and Royal Deeside are easily accessible, or take a trip to Dundee, City of Discovery, and Glamis Castle.

Fly fishing, sea fishing and golf are all readily available.

Quiet country roads and nearby coastal paths offer interesting walks or cycle rides and there is an abundance of wildlife around the area.

At Gourdon you can arrange to take seal and dolphin watching trips.
