Newly completed in 2008 this rural self-catering holiday
apartment forms the north wing of the owners' 18th century farmhouse. It is located in beautiful countryside near the southern edge of the Cairngorm National Park on the banks of the River Isla and stands in more than an acre of gardens. There are lovely views in every direction.
The apartment has been designed to achieve a high standard of comfort for guests. The accommodation comprises two large bedrooms (one on the first floor, the other on the ground floor). The upstairs bedroom has a king size double bed and an en suite with a corner bath and separate shower. The downstairs bedroom has two large single beds with a wet room and toilet adjoining. Both bedrooms are luxuriously appointed and their dressing tables are equipped with hairdryers. The downstairs bedroom and wet room have been designed to be suitable for those with mild mobility problems. Everything on the ground floor is on the one level and even the entrance door is only one step up from the approach path.
The large lounge/dining room is integral with the apartment's fully equipped kitchen. The lounge area has comfortable armchairs and offers guests both satellite television with dvd and vhs player and a digital hifi with radio and cd facility. There is also a selection of books and games. This sunny room is an excellent place to watch our resident colony of red squirrels feeding, burying nuts and chasing one another up and down the trees.
The kitchen has both a full electric oven with ceramic hob and a microwave. The capacious fridge has a proper freezer compartment and there is also a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble drier.
The apartment has oil-fired central heating operated by simple controls and a very efficient wood-burning stove, which creates a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings. No additional charge is made for the use of the central heating and two fills of the log basket are also included in the rental. If more wood is required it can be purchased by arrangement.
The owners take great pride in their gardens and guests are welcome to enjoy every part of them. This is a place of great tranquility and beauty in every season of the year. The roads here are very quiet while the hills and forests offer many interesting walks.
Broomhall provides a perfect base for exploring Central Scotland and the Southern Highlands, while the cultural attractions of St Andrews, Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh are all within easy reach.
We guarantee a warm personal welcome to all our guests, including tea or coffee and scones on arrival. We provide a generous welcome pack to cover the first breakfast and we seek at all times to offer a warm, friendly and helpful atmosphere. There is also the possibility (by prior arrangement) of having a full dinner served on the evening of arrival and on the evening before departure.
