Walkers & Cyclists WelcomeThe Mill of Blackhall was first built in the 16th century of warm red sandstone.

Recently converted to a house, it sleeps 6-8 people 4 Star Self Catering Ratingin spacious comfort, and has been awarded 4 stars by VisitScotland.

The downstairs accommodation includes a huge sitting-dining room with inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove, a large eat-in kitchen, a utility room, and a downstairs loo.

Upstairs there are two twin-bedded rooms. one with washbasin; one double-bedded room with en-suite loo, washbasin and shower; a study bedroom with double sofa bed; and a family bathroom with bath, toilet, shower and washbasin. There is ample cupboard and drawer space everywhere.

Equipment includes TV with Freeview and video, a washing-machine,Mill of Blackhall tumble-dryer, dishwasher, double oven with hob, and a microwave oven. There is oil-fired central heating throughout.

The accommodation is full of character, with exposed beams, timber and red-tiled floors, oriental carpets and antique furniture.

The large, self-contained garden includes lawns, wooded areas and shallow ponds. The waterwheel is immobile and is secured by a chain.

The Mill is close to the Braes of Angus for hill-walking, but only 20 minutes from sandy beaches. The North Esk and South Esk are two noted salmon and sea-trout rivers.

This is a great area for birdwatching, with several varied reserves not far away. The Brechin Castle Equestrian Centre provides riding lessons and escorted woodland rides.

Glamis Castle is 15 minutes away, and there is a host of other historic buildings within easy driving distance.

The Mill is in a very peaceful situation, with views over open fields to a small trout stream.

Dogs are welcome by arrangement. No smokers.
