Come and enjoy the display of the Strathmore Highland Games on June 10th at Glamis.
Set in the foreground of the Castle, this is an annual event steeped in heritage and tradition.

The first highland games took place around a thousand years ago when Scotland was divided by Clans, and ruled by Clan Chiefs and Kings.

They were held as a competition of strength and agility, in order that the various Chieftains' might recruit the fastest runners for messengers, the strongest men as bodyguards, and the best dancers and pipers to entertain the Clan and their guests.

Traditional Highland Games hosting three championship events:

  • Scottish Caber Tossing
  • Scottish Open Tug o' War
  • Scottish 800 Metres Cycling

A variety of refreshment and souvenir stalls are available and there is ample seating around the main arena.
Easy parking and access to the event.

Keep hold of your Highland Games Ticket to receive a special discounted admission for a guided tour of the Castle.

A full programme of events can be viewed at www.shgg.co.uk
