Cairn Bannoch
Hills & Mountains

A mountain to the west of Loch Muick on the border between Angus and Aberdeenshire, Cairn Bannoch rises to a height of 1012m (3,320 feet) above a glaciated valley south of Lochnagar.

Its name is derived from the Gaelic for "peaked hill", which is appropriate since its summit takes the form of a cone-shaped granite point.
