A Corbett peak lying on the border between Angus and Perth and Kinross Council Area, Monamenach rises to a height of 807m (2,647 feet) and lies 4 miles (6.5 km) east of Spittal of Glenshee.

It takes its name from the Gaelic for 'middle hill'.
