Angus College say recent analysis of their figures has shown just how successful their construction students are in finding employment.
Many of these students began their studies in either S3 or S4 at Secondary school attending College half a day per week on "Skills for Work" sessions in the Construction Crafts. Almost half of the 1st Year Apprenticeship intake this session came from students on the Skills for Work programme progressing on to the full time Introduction to Construction Course and then into Employment.
Curriculum Manager, Colin Johnson says "there has been so much doom and gloom about the Construction industry and the downturn in the economy recently, but this proves what a fantastic springboard the College is to a career in Construction. In tough economic times, companies rely on us to provide top quality trainees. The College courses also give the students a great opportunity to try out different construction disciplines and helps them decide which trade suits them best."
The College offers a variety of Construction Courses Skills for Work at Intermediate 1 through to Higher National Certificates.
