Planning An Event - Get A Pack!

Issued: 16 September 2008

If you are planning an event, whether it's a small coffee morning or a county wide road race, a new easy to use pack from Angus Council will steer you through the relevant rules and regulations to ensure your event is safe and legal.

Launching the Safe and Legal Events Pack council leader Bob Myles said it would be really useful for event organisers.

"The council is keen to help organisers find their way through the sometimes confusing maze of rules about health and safety, licensing, insurance and so on.

"This pack points them in the right direction and highlights what they need to consider when planning their event, from food safety to who to speak to about getting a street closed.

"The pack's design means organisers can dip in to the sections that relate to their event and there are ready made checklists to help along the way. So whether it is a concert or a gala day I would encourage organisers to take advantage of the guidance in this free pack."

The free pack was produced by the council's emergency planning unit in association with Tayside Fire and Rescue, Tayside Police, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Focus on Alcohol Angus and other agencies.

Packs are available now by calling the council's ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778.
