Judging is now underway in this year's Scottish National Art Competition. With over eighty selected art works chosen from over 200 entrants from across the country, there has been a great response to this year's challenge.
This competition is organised by Angus College with support from Angus Rural Enterprise Grant Scheme, and grants from local trusts the competition includes three prizes; two thousand five hundred pounds for the top professional artist, one thousand pounds for the best non-professional artist and one thousand pounds for the best student.
Richard Demarco the leading Scottish Art critic is presenting this year awards to the winners.
Spokesman, Kevin Murphy says "we're delighted at the quality of this year's entrants. Some of the best work will be on display at Kinblethmont Gallery outside Arbroath from the 9th to the 29th of November from 11am to 5pm and it will be a great opportunity for everyone to visit."
