Rediscover the Hidden Past of the Glens

The Great Eskape offers a unique opportunity to explore Glen Esk, the longest and probably the most beautiful glen in the County of Angus.

This is an area of unspoilt natural wilderness where little has changed over the passing years. There are high mountains, remote lochs, steep-sided glens and tumbling burns. Ancient mounth paths once used by cattle drovers and whisky smugglers cross these hills and there is a rich history stretching back over thousands of years.

This all-day, fully inclusive tour, guided by an experienced and knowledgeable guide, will start in Carnoustie with transport in a luxurious vintage style bus.

Passengers will travel through the county town of Forfar and then on to the cathedral city of Brechin with excellent views of the Grampian Mountains. These are the hills where J M Barrie of Peter Pan fame walked when he stayed in Kirriemuir. Robert Falcon Scott, before going off on his ill-fated expedition to the South Pole, tested his equipment on the Angus hills.

What the tour comprises:

  • Travel in a 1930s Limousine Asquith
