Brechin Golf & Squash Club

Just off the A90 dual-carriageway, Dundee-to-Aberdeen route, Brechin Golf and Squash Club is easily accessible. The course lost some of its original holes to the construction of the new road but these were replaced with a wide, even section that is coming on well.

The 10th to the 17th holes are mainly the work of James Braid, although there were holes here before his modifications. It is this portion of the course that is most memorable. From here you appreciate the course's tremendous setting, looking north to the foothills of the Grampians. The greens, again on this older section, are famous throughout the area and beyond as perhaps some of the best putting surfaces in the east of Scotland. They can be tricky to read with indiscernible bumps and hollows especially through the summer months when they speed up.
