Caledonian Railway

The four mile section of the Kinnaber to Brechin line, between Brechin and the Bridge of Dun forms the basis of this site preserving an important fragment of Scotland's historic railways.  Picturesque Victorian Brechin Station is itself the only remaining terminus of the Caledonian Branch line.

The Caledonian Railway's collection of classic steam and vintage diesel locomotives and coaches run a summer timetable of passenger trains between the original stations at Brechin and Bridge of Dun.  Trains run on Sundays in June and September, and Saturdays and Sundays in July and August. The historic House of Dun is just a 2 mile walk from Bridge of Dun.

There are Specials running on Fathers' Day, and at Easter. Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends usually visit on a few weekends in summer with lots of fun at both stations! And at Christmas on weekends in December you can meet Santa on the train - with presents for the children and a present from the train staff for the adults. Special events tickets should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.  telephone or e-mail for more information. Booking forms can be downloaded from the website.

There is free parking and a booking office at both stations and at Brechin Station there is a gift shop.
