This course has in the past been utilised as a qualifying course for the Open Championship. What it lacks in length is more than made up for by subtleties and tight fairways. As its name implies, the Barry burn meanders through part of the course and is a feature on some of the five testing short holes.
Location
Carnoustie lies on the northern estuary of the Tay some 20 minutes by road east of Dundee. Turn right off the A92 Dundee to Arbroath road. Follow the signs for the golf course.
