Fishing at Monikie

Fly Fishing (Monikie and Crombie)

Monikie Angling Club provides Fly Fishing for stocked Brown and Rainbow Trout within Monikie and Crombie Country Parks. The Club has 18 boats to let for both members of Monikie Angling Club and visitors.

In Monikie Country Park fishing is available on the Island Pond for Rainbow Trout only, whilst the fishing at Crombie Country Park is for Brown Trout only. Due to essential reservoir maintenance the North Pond will be de-watered and unavailable for angling during the 2005 season.

Last season fish from North Pond average 1lb 14oz. The largest fish caught weighed 4lb 10oz. At Crombie the average was 1lb 3oz and the largest fish was 2lb 2oz.

The fishing season runs from 23rd March to 31st October 2005 at Monikie and from 23rd March to 6th October 2005 at Crombie.

 

Pricing Information

Costs of boat hire for a 12 fish limit is as follows:

  • £14.00 per session one or two OAP members
  • £17.00 per session one or two members
  • £19.00 per session for a member and a guest
  • £19.00 per session for club booking
  • £26.00 per session for one or two visitors
  • £10.00 per session for one member (6 fish limit)
  • £15.00 per session for one visitor (6 fish limit)

Booking Information

Bookings can only be made by telephoning the Duty Bailiff on 01382 370300. The telephone is manned throughout the fishing season during the following times :

10.00am to 10.30am;

1.00pm to 1.30pm;

5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Please note that bookings cannot be made through the Country Park Offices.
