On The Real Retreat’s special-interest breaks you can enjoy an informal break, choosing what’s right for you from our programmes which include yoga lessons, wellbeing and beauty treatments, painting tuition, and even belly-dancing lessons – plus some extra-special pampering! Perhaps you have left the workplace behind and want to redeploy your skills, stimulate your senses with new experiences, enjoy new activities and rediscover talents to keep your mind active.

Try yoga lessons to stretch the muscles, painting tuition to relax your mind, and a massage or beauty treatments or a walk in the countryside to round off the day before an enjoyable dinner and an evening in front of the fire with a good book. The Real Retreat at Duntrune House can offer all this, plus full board. The historic house, surrounded by extensive grounds and woodlands, is VisitScotland 4 Stars Gold, with spacious en-suite bedrooms.

The owners, Olwyn and Barrie Jack, serve locally sourced and home-grown produce and are on hand to ensure that you have a perfect short break! Whether you come on your own, as a couple or with friends, you will be welcome. You can choose your themed break from the programmes or have it tailor-made - yoga, belly-dancing lessons, health, wellbeing and beauty treatments, or painting lessons – some or all of these!

Throughout your stay you will be in the hands of experienced professionals. You can also enjoy the countryside (there are good walks nearby), visit castles and historic houses or spend time in Dundee. To take advantage of your time out, we recommend that you spend two nights and two days at The Real Retreat and perhaps add on a day, with more activities or walking or exploring – or just relaxing at Duntrune.
