Glen Clova to Braemar

Glen Clova is linked with Braemar through an old drove road called 'Jock's Road'. It is said to be the oldest right of way in Scotland. This superb walk offering stunning views follows Jock's Road over the hills to Braemar. It is an 18.2 mile route taking the experienced walker eight and a half hours.

The route starts at Glen Clova Hotel, Clova, taking the road to the Glen Doll car park. Follow the footpath through Glendoll Forest and by a stream until you reach the Top of Crow Craigies. Follow a steep descent to Glen Callater and follow the footpath through. Continue along the footpath to Loch Callater reaching Lochcallater Lodge a track junction; take the bridge over the Callater burn reaching the A93 track junction at Auchallater. Finally take the A93 road near Easter Auchallater to reach Braemar.
