Angus Support for Tourism Business Marketing

The Angus Economic Development Marketing Team is responsible for promoting Angus by means of its niche products as a destination for short breaks and longer holidays regionally, nationally and internationally through a network of public and private partnerships.

Angus Ahead

The Angus Ahead campaign has been developed to implement strategic planning.

The campaign has four main objectives:

• To encourage a civic pride of Angus amongst local communities
  
• To increase investment in Angus
  
• To maximise the tourism and heritage potential of Angus
  
• To promote the distinct culture and natural beauty of Angus

The Angus Web Portal project - angusahead.com - is built on the principles of the Angus Ahead Campaign - that working together in Angus we achieve more.

Specifically, the project aims to support economic and business development in Angus particularly within the tourism and leisure sector.

angusahead.com showcases what a great place Angus is to live, work and play through three main channels:

• Visit Angus - for tourism and leisure information;
  
• - for business information;
  
• Live Angus - for local service and community information

Web visitors can access comprehensive information on Angus via an on-line gateway to Angus attractions, services, organisations, and businesses. Businesses are engaging with Angus Ahead by registering with the directory for Angus and providing a great source of information on facilities, opportunities, organisations, places and events in Angus.

Project Partners

angusahead.com has been developed by Angus Council with support from VisitScotland and Scottish Enterprise Tayside.

The project is part financed by Scottish Enterprise Tayside and the East of Scotland European Partnership under the European Regional Development Fund.

The team

angusahead.com is managed by Angus Council's Economic Development Unit.

The team devise and deliver integrated marketing campaigns using: the angusahead.com website; e-marketing; print; direct mail; advertising; radio; and PR. Key activities and messages have been identified and performance targets are reviewed annually:

• Angus for Heritage & Culture
  Scotland's Scotland's Tartan Day, Ancestral Angus, Brechin Arts Festival, Pictavia, Arbroath Seafest
  
• Angus for Excellence
  Angus Ambassadors Awards, Forfar Food Fest, Angus Sports Awards, Tayside Business Awards.
