Having a Baby in Angus

Angus is an ideal location to bring a child into the world.

If you decide to have your baby in Angus, you will receive first-class care from NHS Tayside. Angus is well served by excellent hospitals, clinics, general practices and family support services.

Angus Council's community based support team provides a free service to families with children from 0 to 3 years. There are three Family Support Teams in Angus covering:

• Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifieth
• Forfar, Kirriemuir and South West Angus
• Montrose, Brechin and North Angus

Support can be given in a flexible way, either within the family home or within the community. Services include learning opportunities for parents, support in developing parenting skills, play activities to stimulate children's development and general support of the family.

Your Family Support Team will introduce you to toy libraries and art projects, and useful groups such as Welfare Rights and Community Childminding.
