Recycling Green Boxes and BinsAs well as the excellent kerbside recycling scheme which has recently been rolled out across Angus to service domestic recycling needs, all seven of Angus' main towns have commercial and domestic recycling centres, open every day, except festive holidays, at the following times:

Winter period - mid-September to April
Monday - Friday 8.15am - 5pm
Saturday & Sunday 10.15am - 5pm

Summer period - May to mid-September
Monday - Friday 8.15am - 7pm
Saturday & Sunday 10.15am -7pm

These recycling centres are suitable for the following items:

  • Cardboard
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Yellow Page directories
  • Liquid food and drink cartons
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Mixed food and drink cans
  • Mixed scrap metals
  • Clothing
  • Plastic milk bottles (rinse and remove tops)
  • Plastic drinks bottles (remove tops)
  • Plastic carrier bags
  • Green garden waste

Rubble and wood can be recycled at the centres in Arbroath, Forfar and Monifieth (no chipboard or painted wood). Find out more in our listings.

Commercial recycling is actively encouraged by Angus Council, so provisions are made for many items to be disposed of free of charge. Otherwise, charges are made based on van sizes entering the recycling centres and waste disposal vouchers must be purchased depending on van size.

Commercial businesses are encouraged make special provisions to recycle their fridges and freezers.
