Healthy Choices in Angus

Much greater emphasis is placed on promoting positive lifestyle choices through improved community health facilities these days, and Angus Council is committed to making the right health and lifestyle choices easy for the community.

Angus is a great place to keep fit, eat well, and care for you and your family's health - with a great environment, excellent shops and farmers markets, accessible leisure and fitness facilities, and a network of NHS and complementary services.

Communities in Angus have good primary healthcare services and facilities with local access to GP's, family doctors and health centres. Angus is well served by excellent nearby hospitals and clinics and the primary, secondary and supporting care services of NHS Tayside.

Angus is also well provided for with respect to other essential health services: dental clinics, women's health centres, home support services, counselling and various life therapy services. Alternative and complementary therapies are also widely available.

The new community resource centre, Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre in Forfar offers the people of Angus all aspects of care, NHS services and a residential facility.
