Angus Council is well-placed to provide guidance and advice to those interested in both private rental and local authority housing opportunities.

Working closely with Communities Scotland, Housing Associations, the Private Renting Sector and Private Developers, Angus Council is committed to addressing housing needs in Angus.

Between November 2003 and January 2004, Angus Council’s Local Authority Housing was subject to a comprehensive inspection by the Executive’s housing and regeneration agency, Communities Scotland. The inspection found that Angus Council’s Housing Services are well managed and serve the population well.

The inspection also found a number of strengths and examples of positive practice including good performance in carrying out repairs on time, in quickly letting empty properties to those in housing need and in working with Tayside Police to combat anti-social behaviour. The findings also highlighted Angus Council’s commitment to serving tenants, working with them to improve housing areas and support local communities.

For the private rental market see the local media.  The Dundee Courier & Advertiser has a useful property supplement every Thursday.
