With colourful pageantry and historical links with America, Tartan Day annually commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Arbroath in Arbroath Abbey on 6 April.
In spring each year, Angus Arts hosts a Puppet Festival.
The Hairst Arts Festival, an annual summer celebration of Scottish traditional music.
Brechin Arts Festival grows in size and range every year, and hosts music -classical, contemporary, and traditional; theatre; exhibitions; guided walks; recitals; and choral performances in and around the cathedral city.
Angus offers impressive sports and leisure facilities, with no less than nine main sports facilities, and is committed to continued sports development and supporting local and regional sports teams. Angus Council is the first multi-site authority in Scotland to have all of its sports facilities, as well as their sports development, Quest registered and accredited.
Angus is also an ideal base for outdoor sports enthusiasts, with long stretches of white beach and scenic hills and glens to explore.
