Famous for its association with golf and proud host to The Open Championship in 1999 and  2007, Carnoustie is one of Scotland's top golfing resorts.

The town has a population of 10,561 (Census 2001) and is one of the youngest Angus Burghs. As well as boasting a landmark hotel and world-renown golf courses, Carnoustie enjoys spectacular coastal scenery and is within easy commuter distance of Dundee.

Much of the town's employment and businesses thrive on the tourism industry.
