Forfar is a lively market town and the administrative centre of Angus Council with a population of 13,206 (Census 2001).
Forfar has a major textiles and manufacturing plant operating in the town. The fertile land surrounding Forfar means that for many years agriculture has had a major impact on local industry and employment. Farmers meet in the town on a weekly basis for the Cattle Mart.

This multi-million pound development is a joint venture between NHS Tayside, Angus Council and Lippen Care.
