Angus Infrastructure

Angus is located centrally in Scotland, on the east coast and inland. The area is well served by road and rail, air and sea and has effective public transport services and car parking facilities.

Road and Rail

The cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are nearby, and it takes just over an hour to Edinburgh and less than two hours to Glasgow by road. The East Coast rail network runs through Angus with major stations in Arbroath and Montrose, serving commuters to Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.

Air

The people of Angus do not have to travel far for UK and international flights. Aberdeen and Dundee airports offer UK flights and connections, and direct flights to a number of Scandinavian and European destinations. The International Airports of Edinburgh and Glasgow offer direct transatlantic flights, international connections and UK shuttles.

Sea

Aberdeen has regular ferry services to Orkney, Shetland, Europe and Scandinavia. Just over an hour from Angus by car, Rosyth offers super-fast ferry links with Europe and Scandinavia. The port of Montrose has a regular cargo and container service to Canada, the USA, Europe and Scandinavia. Dundee port also handles bulk cargoes and containerised loads.

Communications

The region is well served in terms of broadband and local media, with plenty of local radio stations and newspapers.
