Employment Training in Angus
Angus boasts a highly skilled and educated workforce, and Angus residents are encouraged to take up the many training opportunities available in the county.
Employment training and vocational studies are all readily available within the area through a number of diverse providers including; vocational training, youth training, and adult training.
Youth Training
- Get Ready For Work provides skills training and work placements for 16-18-year-olds who are finding it difficult to get into training, learning and jobs. The programme gives participants the help they need to prepare for the world of work. It also pays them a training allowance.
- Skillseekers is a training programme for young people who want to develop skills and equip themselves for the world of work. It's open to people who have left school and have a job or who are looking for work. People aged between 16 and 18 - and in some cases up to 25 - can take part in the programme
Adult Training
- Training For Work provides training support for people aged 25 or over who have been unemployed for some time and actively looking for work. The programme allows people to go on company placements and tap into formal training. In many cases, the trainees go on to land a full-time job.
- New Deal is aimed at helping adults move into work from reliance on Benefits, and offers help and support to help you get back into work. Support is tailored to your individual needs as well as age group. So there is a New Deal for partners, a New Deal for musicians, a New Deal for disabled people and a New Deal for lone partners.
Youth and Adult Training
- Modern Apprenticeships offer people aged over 16 the chance of paid employment linked with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft, technician and management level. This website includes a range of material on how the apprenticeships work and how they can help you.
