Brechin Arts Festival Exhibition

Angus has excellent art galleries and museums
which exhibit contemporary work and historic collections throughout the area. The Meffan Museum and Art Gallery

 

From Carnoustie to the cathedral city of Brechin, from the Meffan Museum & Art Gallery  in Forfar to the Arbroath Art Gallery  or the William Lamb Studio in Montrose, Angus is a friend to art. Many collections can be viewed in the various museums throughout the area, and many visiting exhibitions grace their exhibition halls.The fascinating Angus Fine Art Collection belonging to Angus Council is based at the Meffan and at Arbroath.

The county also has its fair share of lavishly adorned country houses, including the House of Dun and Glamis Castle with their breath-taking collections.

Montrose MuseumWilliam Lamb is one of Angus' most famous sons. His life and work is celebrated at the William Lamb Sculpture Studio in Montrose. Although Lamb was famous for his high profile Royal commissions, much of his best work treated local subjects and people. Many of his sculptures can be seen in the streets of the town.

Brechin Arts Festival takes place each Autumn, and hosts exhibitions, as well as drama, music, and community events.
