carnoustie_tsWith Carnoustie now firmly established on the Open Championship rota; the growing reputation of Angus as the first choice destination for Chinese travellers; angusahead.com seeing its highest user figures with 36,000 visitors per month, and Tartan Day developing into a Scotland-wide initiative, Angus is leading the regional agenda for sustainable tourism development.

To build upon these achievements, a Tourism Strategy Plan (PDF, 5 MB) has been produced to identify how Angus Council will support and stimulate tourism development in the county, and how this will be developed and delivered in a local, regional and national context during the next four years.aberlemno_ts

This is an action-orientated strategy, with delivery and legacy building at its heart. Its purpose is to identify and deliver key tourism opportunities for Angus by capitalising on its success, building on key strengths, and delivering through strong product and sectoral initiatives.
