The Forfar Food Fest is a celebration of the fantastic food available across Angus, held in August each year in Forfar's Myre Park.
Mouth-watering dishes to tempt the palate, fresh home-grown produce, and the best of Angus beef, fruit and fish - all this and more is showcased at the Forfar Food Fest.
Angus offers the finest quality fresh and locally grown food through our excellent growers, producers, retailers and restaurateurs. Home of Angus Beef, the Arbroath Smokie, the Forfar Bridie and famous for its succulent berries, the county of Angus has 40% of Scotland's class 1 agricultural land and produces 28% of the country's potatoes.
And it doesn't just stop with fresh produce; we know how to get the best from our local ingredients to award-winning effect. Angus boasts a fine array of chefs and cooks: from former Scottish Chef of the Year Gary Watson of Gordon's Restaurant, Inverkeillor, to former Scottish School Cook of the Year Lynne Howe, of Tannadice Primary School.
The Forfar Food Fest is organised local business people and those involved in the food industry working together to raise awareness of the feast of healthy tasty food available in Angus. It aims to support local producers, retailers and restaurateurs, bring the benefits of fresh, high quality produce to more people and help the environment by keeping "food miles" low.
