A Vintage Car makes its way up the driveway of Glamis CastleIf classic cars and vintage vehicles are your thing why not check out the wide range of transport events and attractions in Angus. It's not only the motoring enthusiast who is catered for; in Angus you can see all manner of vehicles from the Red Arrows to Thomas the Tank Engine!

The  Scottish Transport Extravaganza is held in July each year in the magnificent and regal setting of Glamis Castle. There is something for everyone, with over 1000 vehicular displays, a craft tent and stalls selling everything from auto-jumble to antiques. Ring entertainment, marching pipe bands and a children's area make this a great day out for all the family.

The REd Arrows
Arbroath Seafront Spectacular is a day-long event on the theme of transport held along Arbroath's glorious seafront in July each year. The show features a wide range of transport related attractions but the highlight is undoubtedly the breathtaking aerobatic display from the RAF's world-renowned Red Arrows.


Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre's Military Vehicle Rally is a gathering of military vehicles and military vehicle enthusiasts from all over Scotland and further afield.

Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre and Caledonian Railway combine forces with the Air, Steam and Wheels Gala weekend. Enjoy classic and historic vehicles, steam train journeys, skydiving displays, football competition and much more.

Thomas the Tank Engine Leaving on his journeyThe Santa Specials have been running in December every year since 1981, and have become a firm family favourite for a pre-Christmas outing. All the carriages are steam-heated, and Santa is on board the steam train to hand out presents to every child!

Thomas the Tank EngineVery popular are the Day out with Thomas events when everyone's favourite engine, Thomas the Tank Engine makes a personal appearance on the Caledonian Railway to hauls trains. Ride in Annie or Clarabel on a return journey form Brechin Station to Bridge of Dun. See Diesel, the Troublesome Trucks, the Fat Controller and Percy or have a ride on "Freddie" the vintage bus or the miniature railway. There are also bouncy castles, face painting and a barbecue.

Steam Gala EventMurder on the Brechin Express is a night out with a difference! Scotland's premier organiser of "murder mystery" events, Blitz Entertainment's team of top professional actors are in character throughout the evening, dropping clues as to the "murder" that has taken place on board the Bridge of Dun-bound express steam train! Tickets include a finger-food buffet meal and a licensed bar.

Steam Gala Weekends feature intensive service, sideshows, "Driver for a fiver" and "three locos in steam".
