Walk 14: Monikie Country Park

Length: 5km/3 miles circular.   Frequest rest stops.

 

Date: Friday 1 June 2012

 

Start: Monikie Country Park, 2pm (own transport required).  Grid Ref: 505 380 

 

Finish: Ranger Centre, 4pm for tea and buns (included).

 

Registration:  Please note that you will need to arrange your own transport to go on this walk. However, you still need to register for this walk. To register for this walk, phone 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: Monikie Country Park, situated 4 miles north-west of Carnoustie, is set in 180 acres of reservoirs, woodland and parkland. Open, panoramic views of Angus, Dundee and Fife, combined with a range of habitats, supporting a myriad of woodland and wetland birds, butterflies and other interesting fauna, make the park a popular visitor attraction. The month of June is particularly good for spring and early summer flora. All routes and trails are defined as easy-going and path surfaces are consolidated. Access to all public areas and facilities are wheelchair friendly.
