Start: Auchallater, Braemar 09.30 (bus from Kirriemuir at 08.00). Grid Ref: 155 882
Finish: Glen Doll car park, 16.30. Refreshments will be available at the Glen Clova Hotel. (Return bus to Kirriemuir Leaves at 17.30).
Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.
About the walk: Jock's Road is said to be the oldest Right of Way in Scotland. It links Glen Clova with Braemar and was an old drove road. The route starts at Auchallater by Braemar and follows good tracks alongside the River Callater. Good views and level ground by the side of Loch Callater until the climb out of the glen to the plateau and Crow Craigies. This section is very steep!! A long descent into Glen Doll with good views to finish.
A high level of fitness is required for this walk!
Full hillwalking gear required. Please bring a packed lunch.
