Walk 18: Waterhead Glen Lethnot to Glentrusta and Afflochie

Length: 8km/5 miles linear.      Ascent: 290m

 

Date: Saturday 2 June 2012

 

Start: Waterhead car park 09.30 (bus from Kirriemuir at 08.45).    Grid Ref: 465 717

 

Finish: Afflochie 15.00. Bus to Kirriemuir for refreshments.

 

Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: The walk climbs out of Glen Lethnot above the Burn of Corscarie to reach the high point between Mount Sned and Hill of Mondurran with extensive views of the surrounding hills. The track is followed to the Iron Gate before descending the Month Shank to the Cruick Water past Glentrusta and finishing at Afflochie.

 

Full hillwalking gear required. Please bring a packed lunch.
