Walk 6: Forfar Loch Country Park

Circular Walk

 

Leader: Mhairi Kimmet, Angus Council Ranger

 

Length: 5km/3 miles circular.  Frequent rest stops.

 

Date: Thursday 31 May 2012

 

Start: Ranger Centre, 2pm (Own Transport Required)                Grid Reference 450 507

 

Finish:  Ranger Centre, 4pm for tea and buns (included).

 

Registration: please note that you will need to arrange your own transport to go on this walk. However, you still need to register for this walk. To register for this walk, phone 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: The Loch is situated on the edge of the town of Forfar and is home to a variety of animals, birds and plants. The natural and social history of the Loch and its surroundings will be explored, including St. Margaret's Inch, site of a prehistoric settlement and medieval chapel.
