Walk 12: Minister's Path, River South Esk

Length: 11km/6.5 miles linear.             Ascent: 200m.

Start: Glen Prosen village, 10.15 (bus from Kirriemuir at 09.45)              Grid ref: 328 657

 

Finish: Milton of Clova, 14.30. Refreshments will be available at the Glen Clova Hotel. (Return bus to Kirriemuir leaves at 15.30)

 

Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: This walk follows the route once taken by the minister between services in the two glens. It climbs out of Glen Prosen to reach 400m on Drumwhern before descending into Glen Clova. The route then follows the road beside the River South Esk to the Milton of Clova.

 

Full hillwalking gear required. Please bring a packed lunch.
