Walk 25: Glen Quiech, Auld Darkney

Grade: ModerateLinear walks

Length: 12km/7 miles linear.             Ascent:440m.

 

Date: Sunday 3 June 2012

 

Start: Midtown (Den of Ogil Reservoir), 09.30 (bus from Kirriemuir at 09.00).

Finish: Redheugh, 14.30. Refreshments will be available at the Drovers Inn. (Return bus to Kirriemuir leaves at 16.00).

 

Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: A medium height walk on good tracks on open moorland the climbing is steady throughout with good views. The route passes Naked Tam and rises to Auld Darkney before dropping down to forestry and the lochside track beside Glenogil Reservoir.

 

Full hillwalking gear required. Please bring a packed lunch.
