Length: 8km/5miles linear                    Ascent: 560m

Start: Lumley Den (A928) 10.00 (bus from Kirriemuir at 9.00)       Grid Ref: 405 415


Finish: 15.30. Greenford (north of Auchterhouse). Bus to Strathmore Arms Hotel, refreshments will be available (return bus to Kirriemuir at 17.00)

 

Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: A ridge walk on tracks and rough pathways along the Sidlaw Hills taking in 3 summits, an Iron Age fort, a regionally important geological site and great views across the Tay estuary and the Strathmore Valley. Refreshments at Glamis and the option of short guided walk around the historic village, childhood home of the late Queen Mother.

 

Full hillwalking gear required. Please bring a packed lunch.
