Walk 5: Glen Doll Forest and Corrie Fee NNR

Leader:  Robin Lofthouse, Forestry Commission Scotland & Mark Moore, Scottish Natural Heritage.

 

Length: 10km/6miles circular

 

Date: Thursday 31 May 2012

 

Start: Glen Doll car park, 11.30 (bus from Kirriemuir at 10.45).       Grid Ref: 283 761

 

Finish: Glen Doll car park, 15.30. Bus to Glen Clova Hotel for refreshments (Return bus to Kirriemuir at 16.30)

 

Registration: ALL Walkers must register with the Event Centre at Kirriemuir Town Hall at least 15 minutes prior to bus departure. If you are planning to meet the bus en route or are travelling to the walk's starting point by your own transport, then you can register by phone on 07825 387330. If you do not register, you will not be permitted to join the walk.

 

About the walk: Good tracks and paths lead through Glen Doll Forest into Corrie Fee, National Nature Reserve, a spectacular amphitheatre noted for its alpine flora and glacial topography. The leaders will explain in detail what makes this site so very special.

 

Boots required. Please bring a packed lunch.
